Did it have the same bumpers as the 94-97 USDM models (i.e. RS, LS, SE, GS, and GSR) or did they start using the 98+ on the 97 ITR? I highly doubt they would have done that, but I'm not sure. Something I've been pondering for a couple of weeks, and haven't found anything with a search. Thanks.

Yes, same as 94-97.

 

Yes, the bumper is the same as 94-97 except the 97 R has a front lip..

"Painter's tape" is meant for easy clean masking when painting, it doesnt leave any harsh residue or anything and comes off very easily.

 

Ive always been curious: What exactly is the point of taping up the bumper/lights when racing?

 

Ok OT but once you go to the track you'll see. Its nothing but pure abuse on the car and the tape is like a car bra, or those new clear bras. It takes the abuse then you just pull it off when you're done.

 

So less or no broken parts (glass) fall on the track.

That the main idea.. I use mine to protect the bumper from conescars/rocks..
