Default H2B install in rex

I need a full list of parts need to install a H2B in my rex. I already have a b16 with place racing mounts. I would also like to know what type of fab work I have to do. Any help would be great.

i mean its not worth the fab or the money when you could have a b16 and use the money you saved from the h22 and make a very very powerful b16 or b20... and the h22 requires custon axles and mounts and a tougher suspension..

Here is my thread on the subject. There isn't an exact parts list yet. This kit is the closest thing you can get and it seems the company has a good rep from the few people that are buying from them. Great tech support. I'm going to end up going with them. So expensive tho, but not more than a built GSR

NO SAYING "Dont Go H22" just stfu. answer with something educational or don't post

When you use the B series tranny, its not as much Fab any more. You will be using the b series shift linkage, and motor mounts, so no cutting for cables or any of that. You only have to modify the block alittle for the half shaft. thats mostly all thats involved.

But the h22 will sit way too low with the b series mounts... Unless its a drag car that is.

No, not to low....to high.

The EF ground clearance is not effected when compared to a B-series. What is though is the hood clearance.

You will need more than a SIR hood.

Putting an H/B settup in an EF is like running a deckplated B-series motor.

i guess we could buy just the plate and make our own custom mounts?

The problem is relocating the engine/transmission to clear the hood will call for modified shift linkage, a custom axle combination, and introduce you to a terrible axle angle as present with the EG H22 bolt in kits.

So weight the options of the two...Hood vs. Mounts, Axles, Shift linkage, Axle Angle. A sacrifice will have to be made if the option is chosen.

This is what I am talking about...

Relocating the engine backwards means you lose the mounting point above the intermediate axle.

(Sorry pics didn't come up first time)

I see your reasoning, but I saw pictures of it done with the hasport b mounts, and the oilpan was sitting VERY low to the ground.

It was on the burgandy crx a few months back.

also, another thing to think about is the rocker pads on the H series engines. They tend to wear down quickly. So addressing this is something that should be thought of carefully.

There was a lot you did not see with that setup.

His concept did fit under the hood, but whatever way he did it, this rear portion of the block above the axle output would have had to be cut off. Not an option for our likings.

Plus I bet his ground clearance was dramatically affected.

Theres no way to space the center of the transmission and the axle outputs, so your sacrifice is hood clearance.
