correct way to wetsand and grit ?'s
whats the correct way to wetsand?
-sand it a little then dip in water? dip it in water before hand?
-soapy water or regular water?
***is 1000 grit good enough for a semi bling look? or do i need 1500-2000

i like to use a sponge or a squirt bottle (when i'm polishing). i just wet the area i'm sanding, then i start sanding. i wipe off the area when i see the water get dirty.
if you mean bling w/ 1000 grit as in you're trying to polish... no it wont bling. you have to get some sort of polishing compound. same with paint, you have to get some sort of buffing compound.
for metal work, i like to stop at 400 or 600 grit wet sand and use a terry cloth with monthers mag and aluminum polish

well i recently went through this process with a set of wheels i did the Lips on. what i did was wet the wheell/ area i was sanding 1st. and through out the process just continue to keep the area wet. the water i feel was almost like a lubricant inbetween the paper and the wheel lip. here is how mine came out
