Default Hype R gets flooded....OH NOES!!!

So i get back to my girlfriends house after an afternoon of getting my birthday presents from her, and i go to put somethin in my car and something seems odd....the floor mats are SOAKED! After a little more investigating i realize that it's not just the driver side, it's the whole floor...luckily it seems like it just barely filled the floor. No real damage but it sucks anyway. Seats are fine, and all the water came out with a wet-dry vac and some fanning.....but i told her parents i'm never parking my baby on the street again haha.

Glad to hear it wasn't submerged. Would the floors rust from something like this? Would you need to pull the carpet to let it dry?

I would gut the car completely and make sure everything is dry. I would then spray wd40 on most of the areas prone to rust under the seats and most misc bolts.

Agreed. I would also spray the carpeting with a fungicide to ensure mildew does not start to develop.

it runs fine, it wasn't deep enough to get into the motor at all. My dad and i spent a good 30 minuets vacuuming all the water out and then letting it dry with fans on it. No smell.....and yeah, sucks about the timing on my ******* birthday, but the presents the g/f gave me more than made up for it

SHE was my sex toy

funny side story, rented a hotel room @ a local hotel, and the owner was the son of someone my dad represents (dad and I have the same name and this guy picked up on that) luckily the guy was close to my age and said don't worry, everything confidential, haha.

I had a birthday like that. Basically we went to the local "adult" store. She gave me a spending limit and said I could get whatever I want. After that we went to the hotel room and didn't sleep all night

Sucks about the flooding. Aren't you trying to sell your car too? Better keep this on the DL

That's Florida for you. My street does that too but then i'm on the higherside of ground and car is garaged... FLorida drainage doesn't function too well when it comes to the very fast flash monsoons

i had same thing happen to my GSR, freaking 3 feet of water and i drove threw it like a tard!

one thing that helps A TON is use a big SHOPVAC and vacuum that water out of the carpet and mats. If you do that and then drive around with the heat on for the floor for a while, you should be good.

good luck
