Default XS POWER.. good or bad?

i bought a set up on ebay including a manifold, wastegate, and downpipe... all made by xs power the welds on the manifold look great inside and out , the wastegate might as well be a tial, downpipes a little shotty but i guess my question is I have been seeing them a lot on ebay selling turbos and was wondering if it would be a good idea to steer clear of them, I haveheard both good and bad things about them but havent heard enough to make a decision, what i need is a t3 t4 60 trim (preferably .57 .68 ) thanks again for your help

People on the MR2oc experimented with some SSautochrome and XS power products....results were just as good as parts 2x and 3x more expensive. The 50mm wastegate (I think its an XS power) was supose to be amazing.

I just got my XS Power BOV, and 38mm Wastegate about 5 minutes ago. You're right. Might as well be Tial.

I also bought the 200$ XS Power intercooler. Looks just like a Precision.

Don't know about the turbos though. I wouldn't get one.

My XS Power turbo blew the oil seals. I wouldn't risk it unless you can afford to replace it.

Same thing happened to my friend's XS turbocharger in his Accord. He's running the XS Wastegate, however and it works great.

I'm using an XS Power wastegate and BOV.. I've only been boosted a couple days, but they both seem to work great and as stated, the wastegate looks identical to a tial.

I would stay away from the turbos though, while some people have had good luck with them, a lot of people seem to have problems.

It seems as though the XSPOWER turbos like to blow oil seals very early. Would it be cost effective to also buy a rebuild/seal kit for it?

WOW you guys really helped me out a lot, i was just with a buddy I hadnt seen in a while and he has a turbo ej1 and hes got the equal length manifold and spent like 400 bones on it and i asked him about the one I was getting and he said it was garbage and that I shouldnt try it... but from what im hearing its a good deal and i should buy it, has anyone ever experienced boost spike/creep with the wastegate.. cause im going to be running a obd0 b20b with fmu and boost spike will crush a sleeve, either way thanks again

I just picked up the ebay t3/t4 from him for 270 shipped. WE SHALL SEE. I'm too broke to afford a "name brand" turbo ... and my junkyard t3 just **** the bed (after 2 years, got it for $150 on ebay) ... burning more oil than gas.

I'll let you all know how she goes.

Run a search.

Someone bought one of their turbo's and the compressor housing literaly split off from the rest of the turbo in one clean piece. Turns out they glue it together.

ive heard the wg is fine and the bov is fine. oil seals on turbo go bad and the manifold either needs rewelding on the collector and wg flanges after that it seems fine also think of reinforcing the turbo flange it might not be able to hold the weight of the turbo.

if you dont have **** for cash... then you dont need a turbo integra.

The price looks good now, but when the wg flange flass off and you lose your wg going down the road... or the turbine flange cracks and falls off of the mani and now you are out a turbo. in the long run you will spened more money fixing both the turbo and manifold tan they are worth.

Cheap, Fast, Reliable..... pick 2

ill pick cheap and reliable... and nah im gunna reinforce the manifold, soo no need to worry bout **** flying off down the street i have also heard that obx manifolds have a problem holding onto their turbos but doesnt mean it happens to every single person, if i tack a few extra supports onto it it should be just fine

u brace it. itll still fail on you. just a mtter of time. OBX and SSautocrome , XS power pretty much all get their **** made at the same place. just small variations.

welding supports on the manifold will make it worse if you do not do it properly.

Agreed, there's a pic floating around here of someone with a Supra, I believe, that did it properly. Unless you do it the way he did, you're only going to be creating more stress points when it heats up, causing it to crack worse.

Just search, there are countless people who have had theirs fail. How many times do you have to read of an issue before you learn from it?

And FYI all of those shitty manifolds are made by mengheader.com.
