Default Formula One in 2 weeks - predictions

So if we are even able to watch the races, what does everyone forsee in the upcoming season?

I see Ferrari on top, but for the last time in a while.

Williams and McLaren will go neck and neck for 2nd, with McLaren finishing ahead by a hair.

Renault will be in 4th place, Sauber in 5th, and Jordan will edge out BAR to 6th.

I see Arrows embarrassing Jaguar to 8th by beating them with their own engines.

Toyota will have a lot to learn and will finish just out of last.

Minardi will bring up the rear.

As for Prost, if you haven't heard; they don't exist anymore.

I disagree. I see Ferrari on top for years to come.

Schumacher will win this year, followed by Coulthard, Ralf, and Montoya (not necessarily in that order). I think Williams will take 2nd place in the constructor's championship, they have the overall stronger pairing of drivers. McLaren will fight Sauber for 3rd place in the constructor's champ, and Renault will be just behind those two in 5th.

I agree with you about Arrows, but Toyota might surprise some people. I think they might edge out one of the Honda-powered teams.

Look for BMW to get their stuff together. No more leaving the car up on jacks in the grid while the race has started.
If they iron all that stuff out, they will edge out a Ferarri team that will rest on it's laurels...
Toyota is going to find out the hard way that F1 is an exclusive club, and they are showing up to the party uninvited. Look for them to take some serious lumps, and then get protested for a bunch of trumped up junk just because.
They have already pissed off a bunch of people by testing with their tires during a testing ban for everyone else...
Jaguar will finish dismally.
Renault will be very strong, if they can overcome reliability issues on a new car. They know the game, have won before, and know what it takes.

I see a bunch of extremely expensive cars parading single file around the worlds best road courses.
Sorry, I lose interest in F1 after about the first 2 laps. There is more exciting racing most every weekend up the road from me at Road Atlanta.
Sorry, I just think F1 is a waste of what could be a very good thing. There is no doubt that it's the best equipment and best drivers in the world. It's just that there is rarely any "racing."

British Touring Car (or whatever it's called these days)... Now those guys RACE.

And yeah, Ferrari will win again. Yawn.

Ferrari resting on its laurels is just not going to happen. Schumi wants to put his name on top of every record, and won't stop until he's put them all out of reach for anyone in his era.

I agree with the Artist formerly known as RoadRicer...F1 is cool, but basically boring. It's a shame CART has gone down the tubes, it provides really great racing.

Having a parade where one's position is determined by their skill (and money, yes) is better than having a psuedo-spec series that has meaningless passing (NASCAR) and rule changes every race. WHen such freedom is given to designers its not suprising that racing is not as close as in other series. I agree that in pure racing F1 isnt perfect, but its very decent; and combine that with more exciting component development than any other area of racing and you have a great series.
