To save money use what ever the car has.
With the gas rise I'm using LS

 

With D-series transmissions, most people are going to say cable because you need to fab some mounts up if you want to use a hyrdo d-series transmissions.

As far as B-series, it will be little more even, but I am going to say more people have cable as well.

As far as me... Cable D-series transmission. Si.

i got y1 in my b16 hatch...what i dont got is a fourth gear

still lookin for a tranny...so if u find one grab it...they are becoming hard to find

J1. Just found out its geared better than my old jdm itr tranny. Cant wait to find a Final Drive of 4.9 or so to throw in there.

I had a cable J1 and a Y1 w/ lsd, but now I have a 98 Spec JDM Type R w/ 4.7 fd. Best transmission I have owned so far.

Si Tranny with ZC 1-4 gears for shorter gearing and Si 5th gear and final drive for nice highway cruising...my set-up works good with the mini-me

 

Cable 4.437 FD Si geared 1-5 for now
in the process of swapping in the DOHC ZC 1-4 and HF 5th
should be killer

hydro gsr with hasport conversion kit. man I really want the jdm ITR w\4.7 final drive!

What are you at freeway cruisin at 80mph? I'm at a constant 4k RPM and it seems to go up about 500+rpm per 10mph after that....

 

I have a JDM S1 ( No grinds ) with a USDM LS 5th gear and a LSD. --- Custom baby Custom and I love it.
