The '94 F2 is good because it has better forks than the other F2's. But, you would probably want to upgrade them eventually with Race Tech stuff.
The CCT and R/R are the Achilles heel of the F2 bikes. Replacements can be costly or cheap, depending on which route you take. Otherwise, they're reliable and practically bulletproof.

how can you you tell if the ccct is bad oor rr is bad. this s gnna be a first bike i don't know crap abouot them. i work for honda as a technician (cars) so you think iit will be hard for me to change them if they ever go bad?
Depending on the prices in YOUR area, you should offer what is within reason. If the bike is mint, then you should make an offer that is near the upper limit of the range.
Most of all, offer what you feel is reasonable, and no more.

I picked up my '94 F2 for $3000, it was in good condition, new paint job, been down before, and a few other minor problems. Definately a great 1st bike, I love mine! Good luck, and be safe.

When the CCT (cam chain tensioner) is starting to go bad, you will hear a rattle coming from the engine. It's not easy to pick out, but you can try pulling in the clutch while in motion to see if the noise is there. The CCT is easy to medium on the difficulty scale. I would suggest getting a manual CCT (as opposed to the automatic CCT that Honda uses). You'll only need to adjust it every so often (about once a year).
A dead battery can be a sign that the R/R (regulator/rectifier) is dead, but being electrical, it could be a number of things. The RR is easy to replace. Just unplug its harness, remove two screws, and replace.

The price is way to high in my opinion... Check the blue book on it and keep looking around but good deals go really fast this time of year. I had 4 bikes sold out from under me within a day before i picked up my 94 F2 for $2,000. You can find alot better deals than that one but thats just my opinion.
Here's a pic of my F2 i picked up a few weeks ago, I love the bike and its a great starter bike...
