...Questions, Need Help, Tire and Rim Sizing Opinions?
...Whatsup guys...Im planning on ordering some new wheels for my eg hatch...regardless of the which rim i order...i was planning on ordering 15's...but a guy i spoke to the other day said 16s would also be alright, while im sure they would work, which ones in general seem to work better with/look better on eg hatches...16s might be nice, but might they be too big? and also, whats the bolt patter? obviously its 4 lug, but is 4x100?4x114.3?etc...and as for tires, my old rota slips were 195/55/15 falkens all around and seemed good, the si's im sittin on now, 2 are 195/55/15 which are good, but the other 2 are 205/55/15 and were too big for the front, as they would scrape the wheel well when cuttting all the way left or right, so i had to switch them to the back...i do not want on the new tires i will be ordering...so my question is whats the best rim/tire size setup for me? i definitely need help with this and need advice so i dont order the wrong sizes...thanks guys...
15's are nice. Your bolt pattern is 4x100. I am running Buddy Club SFs 15x6.5 +42 offset 205/50/15 Azenis. I only rub on hard turns or little bit harder than normal turns with a passenger. A lot of people run 195/50/15. But, rubbing is also a factor with offset and wheel width. I say stick with 195/50/15 for your Si's.
im runnin on skunk2 lowering springs and an otherwise stock suspension...so 4x100...w/ 15s and 195/55/15?...ive seen for 16s that there are 205/45/16 and 205/50/16...the 45 and 50 difference, what is that in relation to? and if i choose to get 16s w/ say the 205/45/16 will those work so that there will be no rubbing? or will those be too big regardless?
My friends hatch is dropped 2.5 inches and he has 16 inch Rota Circuit 8's with 205/45/16's and still has clearance; he can even drop another half inch to maybe even a full inch.
Your tire width of 205mm is rubbing your fender. The 45 or 50 is your series. For example 205/45/16, 45% of 205mm is your tire height from edge of rim to the outer edge of the tire. So 205/45/16 has a smaller diameter than 205/50/16. You might get rubbing on 205/45/16, depends on the offset of your rim as well.
...thanks its starting to clear up for me now...2 of the si's im currently sittin on, the 2 that were rubbing , are wrapped in bfg's 205/55/15...so is it possible that if i get 205/ 45 /16 with the new 16s, that the smaller 45 will help prevent the rubbing? even with the bigger size 205s?

I have 99-00 si wheels with 195/55/15 tires. My eg hatch is lowered on h&r race springs. I rub when im turning sharply at slow speeds, ie parking into a parking spot.
Personally... i would recommend 195/50/15 for a 15 inch rim from experience. Then you can go that 2.5 inch drop without worry for your eg hatch. But you dont really need that much of a drop. 2.25 is more then enough.
