Default b16a on LS tranny???!

How is it? Are the gears too long? I know the b16a gears are short and sweet. I'm not sure if the b16a has enough tq to push a LS tranny.....

yeah you got them backwards! you want the ls with the b16 tranny or b16 motor and tranny but not the ls tranny in either situation!

The LS tranny is going to kill the performance of the B16 because it has the longest gears. I use to have a b16 with a LS tranny and it took forever to get into vtec in 3rd gear...Best tranny would be a GSR tranny because it's not too long and isn't too short like the B16 tranny..

yea I figured. I'm looking at an eg with a blown ls engine. I can get a b16a motro for like $200 so I wsa thinking of tossing that in. but knew the LS tranny would be bad news.

I will probably jsut get another ls motor. in and EG I woudl rather have the b16a tranny/engien, but it's alrady got an ls engine.

Right now I am running a B16 with some internals with the LS tranny; it's not as bad as I thought. It's not hard to stay in Vtec shifting into 3rd. Running the P73 ECU, titanium springs and retainers, I/H/E, it's not too bad. Weird holding 3rd until 109mph though. But, the only reason I have that tranny is because I am planning on boosting it. Makes for damn good gas mileage for the time being.
