Default mini me wiring help, already searched

alright i got everything done except for the wiring, which is where im sorta stuck. i already searched. im using a a6 bottom, y8 intake mani, y8 head, and a 9295 dx dizzy.

-i dont know how to wire the distributor

-i read that i cant use obd0 injectors? but i would liek to use them. how do i wire them up

-i have obd1 ecu plugs so i am planning on depinning my current plugs and putting the p28 plugs on, to keep it clean. i found a diagram of how to swap the wires but im not sure if its using obd1 injectors? ...ahhh

basically i dont know how to wire it up using the parts im using, mostly the injectors and distributor. anyone have some advice?

First off, what car are you starting with? If its a DPFI, you need to convert it to mpfi FIRST!!!!!!!!

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by menappi &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">-i dont know how to wire the distributor</TD></TR></TABLE>

I would suggest getting a Y8 distributor, it will bolt directly to the y8 head without any ghettoness like you will have with the 92-95 dx distributor bolting that on. As far as wiring the distributor, get a distributor conversion from rywire.com, its only $25 (obd2 to obd0 for the y8 distributor and obd1 to obd0 if you use the 92-95 dx dist.)

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by menappi &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">-i read that i cant use obd0 injectors? but i would liek to use them. how do i wire them up </TD></TR></TABLE>

Next, injectors, if you have MPFI already installed from the factory, keep the obd-0 injectors and keep the injector resistor box. Obd-0 injectors are low voltage injectors while obd-1 injectors are high voltage. Obd-0 injectors + resistor box = obd-1 injectors.
If you have DPFI, you need to convert to mpfi and just put the obd 0 injectors into the Y8 intake manifold.
Basically, just wire the car as if you were using obd-1 injectors, but instead there is a resistor box. The ecu wiring should be the same as if you were wiring obd0 and obd1 injectors... I think. Someone confirm.

Use the obd1 injectors and loose the resistor box. newer is better.

use an obd2 dizzy, where it will bolt up nicely to the head. you can rewire those to run obd1 i believe.

haha man thanks for the replies, but none of that helped me. as i said im using a 9295 dx distributor. 9295 dx dizzys bolt up to a y8 head and are obd1, which is why im using it. the ex/si dizzy will not bolt up. so anyways im gonna run the p28 using the dx dizzy and my obd0 injectors. i plan to use them becuase im going to be turboing soon and i have some dsm injectors that require the resistor box so i might as well keep it there, and i already have them in my car (its a 88 crx si, so its already wired for mpfi). i need to find a resource of some sort or wiring tutorial to wire up the injectors and the dizzy, along with all the sensors. wire colors and everything. and no i dont want ot use the a6 dizzy because i want to run the p28.

You can have a chip made that, with the use of a relay, can open the VTEC selanoid at a certain RPM. This would save you a lot of money, and it kinda sounds that you are going to be chipping your P28 somewhere down the road anyways...

Check out PMGFI.org .

Other than that, find a pinout of an OBD0 ECU harness and an OBD1 ECU harness and get at it. I'm pretty sure the plugs are different for the ECU, and I'm sure you've probably found out that the harness is different for the dizzy too. You'll also need to add wire for the VTEC selanoid and oil pressure switch...

Akiraboy, I think he was referring to the EG EX/Si dizzy that won't bolt up to the Y8 head. The Z6 dizzy won't bolt up to much.

yes i want to wire it up myself, but i wanted to find a tutorial. i mean that i have the manuals and i dont think i would be able to figure out the wiring myself by looking at the pinouts n such, but id rather do it without buying any harnesses. that pgmfi link will help me though. maybe when im done i will make a walkthrough so that others will have some all in one walkthrough on how to do it.
