Trouble spooling a 60 trim t3 turbine?

Default Trouble spooling a 60 trim t3 turbine?

I was looking at a turbo kit for sale, that comes with a t3 turbine 60 trim. I herd from people that even tho its a small turbine, my b18b wouldn't start spooling till 4500 RPMs, because of the big trim size.

What would be a good turbine that would spool to 10 PSI by 5000 RPM... I want good mid range power

i have an sc61 with a 61mm wheel on my ls, and mine starts spoolin at 3k and full boost at 4,800 rpms.

check for leak or whatnot... should spool faster than that. a 60 trim t3 is not that big to be soo laggy.

What? 60 trim is a tough turbo to spool up on a 4 cyl. I'v never seen one hit full boost under 5k or so. + he's running a 04b. If you want low end power, just get a .42 or something.

yeah well sorry... my bad I do read too quick.

what do you expect for free anyways...

Are you serious... you have never seen a 60 trim t3 spool before 5k? A few locals run them without problems... b18 integra and hb. Next time I see them, I will have to ask them when exactly they are seeing full boost.

I run a much bigger t3/60-1 and I have no problems spooling that thing before 5k on my 4 cyl f22b1.

im running an SC61-52E on a b16a stock head, stock bore w/ 9.0:1 Comp., and its not fully spooled till about 6,200rpms. (no leaks or anything)

Try not to tell people that, because there is something wrong with your setup for it to hit that late.

theres nothing wrong, compression checked out good, no leaks from the manifold, and the turbo is in excellent condition. even an SC50 when i first went turbo didnt spool till like 5,500rpms.

although, the 2.5" dp with 2.5" exhaust and the inline pro manifold might be holding back the spool time.... ive got a neukin equal length manifold w/ 3" dp waiting to go in....any idea what this will drop my spool time to? sorry for hijacking the thread, just wanted to put in a quick question.

Exactly

A 450 HP SC50 is not a 5500 RPM turbo. Switching to an SC61 from an SC50 at the same boost level does not make you lose 10 WHP with a pound more boost.

There's an SC50 on a revhard turbo kit + stock B16 block. Full boost well before 5500.

There's an SC61 on a B16, albeit 84.5mm bore. You're looking at a couple hundred RPM slower spool from an 81.5mm bore, but nothing drastic. It hits 24 psi right around 5200 RPM's.

There is something that isn't right with your setup.

the reason i lost 10 hp from switching over was b/c of the horrible spool time, plus the huge temp/weather change, from a MD harsh winter to a MD blistering summer.

so what else could be wrong with my setup? comp. checks out good, there are no leaks from the manifold or downpipe..... and will the neukin equal length plus a 3" dp help out dramatically with my setup? what kind of spool time do you think, from 6,500 with an inline pro mani and 2.5" dp and exhaust...?

If the dyno was SAE corrected the weather should have made virtually no difference, especially if it was the same dyno.

I really don't have a clue what could be wrong without going over your car in person, but there has to be something. Who has tuned it? Checked the distributor to make sure it isn't off?
