Default CEL: 9 CYP - cylinder sensor

Hey, my CEL would come on and off during idle of my car, the code it would throw was 9.. This last few days my CEL has been always on, i do not believe it is the same code..

is there a way to check for more than 1 code being thrown?

Any info on CEL 9?!

thanks!

When you initially checked the codes and got 9, if the ECU had stored more than one code, it would have spit it out at you either before or after (depending on which number it is) it did 9.

Did you check for obvious broken wires? Have you removed the distributor cap to check for anything amiss?

There is a thread at the top of this page concerning codes. There is also the search button.

Do you have a Helms? Do you have a meter to do some electrical checks on that sensor?

That sensor is located in the distributor. If its bad, you have to replace the entire distributor sub-assembly. Costs about $275 from places like slhondaparts.com.

is it 9 long blinks, or 9 short blinks? if it is 9 short blinks, it is the CYP sensor, which can be fixed by changing dizzy's. if it is 9 long blinks, it is actually code 90, which is evap canister..
