Honda Wheel Well Rust Solution
I chopped an image of a hatch to show a design change in the rear quarter panel. The downflow of of the panels should allow water to flow out and drain rather than camp out in your sheet metal.

remove the plastic rubber thing
its not water thats causing the rust, its mud that sits on the lip.. then u drive through water and water sits in the mud... etc etc...
the only way to stop the rust is to block that area off completely, or remove the lip

I'm not good with advice. I'm just saying that the current design is flawed. The wheel wheel line is actually trapping water in there right now because the current panel cut is a plateau. It should be a hill that angles up toward the tailight.
i totally disagree.........DO NOT remove that rubber strip. i have owned 2 90-93 accords wich are the hondas that have the worste rust. i thought you should remove that strip to but u dont. if u move that strip it leaves the paint on that lip to become chipped off from sand spitting up from your tires and little rockes and what not. and when the painbt comes off bare metal is expossed. so leave that rubber lip trust me from experiance. i have a 93 civic with no rust at all and what i did was bought rubber silicone and put it all along the inside of that lip and rubber strip and then tapped the lip overnight to hold it tight. and now no mud or water can access the lip and start rust. that lip is there for a reason dont remove it.

Or just keep it clean after removing the rubber boot, most cars come without the rubber. Only a few car manufacturers have those (Subaru,Honda, and a couple others). Those companies seem to have a rusting issue with most of there cars.
