HEAD UNIT INSTALLATION PROBLEMS
I want to install my head unit on my 98 civic ex coupe, but I hear there is controversy in both locations. If I install it in the dash, I was told keyless entry would be disabled. I do not want to lose keyless entry. How do I install the unit so that I keep my keyless entry?
Also I could install it behind the shifter under the dash. But I was told the wires from the current unit arent long enough. what wires would I need and how does it connect? Also would that disable the keyless entry anyway if you are taking the car wires from the stock unit and connecting them to a wiring harness for the aftermarket unit below?
Any help is appreciated....I refuse to let best buy or circuit city charge me a fortune for what should be a simple job.

The wires are long enough if you decided to move the headunit where the shifter is that's assuming you're using a metra harness or splicing and extending the wires.
If you want to maintain the keyless entry (module built in with the stock radio) click this link:
