Im having a few problems trying to get my RC 550s to fit.

1st, The clip wont plug into the injector. There is a small bit of plastic in the way. Which makes me wonder if i have the right injectors. Looks like they would plug right in if i removed that bit of plastic. Also the RC injectors are a tad bit shorter than the stock on.

2nd, The injector wont really plug into the Intake mani. The rubber seals seem too small. I can just barely squeeze the injector in a lil way. Should i just try to make the rubber seal bigger by dremeling it?

It seems to plug into the fuel rail with no problems. Im wondering if i got screwed over again buying these injectors like half the stuff i have bought

i ran into the same problem with my injectors, except my injector clips were obd2 and my injectors came off an obd1 car, so i found some new injector clips(obd1) from a guy on here and just rewired them and they fit perfectly. try to pick up some new injector clips. are these injectors brand new?
i dont really know about ur second question but i dont really see the problem in dremeling them out a little?!

You can dremel out the lower seals, just the like DSM injector install. Even though that isn't the best way to do it, that is how I have had to do 3 installs with RC 550s. That way it lets the rail fit on the enough to get the nuts on. Also for the clips, try pushing them on at an angle, sometimes that does the trick.

 

the clips wont go on at any angle... they look like they should fit fine with the exception of a plastic ridge inside the injector will need to be cut. Now i dont mind cutting it, but why would that ridge be there?

Does anyone know what the difference is between obd1 and obd2 injectors?

I have pics of this, but i have never hosted any before. ill get on that tho.


This is very urgent cuz im getting dyno tuned on thursday and i need to know if i got screwed again. Then ill have to get 550s overnighted to me.

 

Just cut the little plastic thing out of the injector clips. It will take two minutes. No big deal. Good luck man.

yea, but why is it there?

 

I had to cut my old RCs too. It's no big deal.

And they don't fit like stock into the intake manifold. As long as there is pressure against the o-ring from the tightened down fuel rail they will seal.

yep. cut the ridge out. I cut mine with a utility knife.

u dont have to dremel the seals on the intake mani... the pressure from the bolts on the fuel rail will hold them snug... thats how i did mine and i ahve no leaks

The only reason you would have to do the dremeling is if the fuel rail wouldn't go down far enough to get the nuts on that holds the rail down.

thats exactly how i did my friend sohc-turbo recently didn't had a dremel laying around just use the pressure from the 3 fuel rail bolts to snuggly against the intake manifold groumets...

so far so good although on my previous setup there were securely in with the help of a dremel

works either way....

 

Looks to me like the RCs are about the same in size as DSM 450s...

I had to do the same things to my DSMs, cut the tab out on the inside of the clip and dremel out the o-ring a bit so they fit into the intake mani...

I would think that expensive RC injectors would fit more properly than my $60 DSM injectors though... I guess not?

now i gotta get my 3bar hooked up.

Make sure you post pics. I am going to install a 3bar on my z6 soon. Which one did you go with? GM? MSD?

GM, its pretty easy from what i have read. Just some splicing and tapping a vac source.
