i just installed some coilovers from hell. every single bolt was either stripped or rusted on so bad i had to cut them off. well they are on now and its the worst ride in the world. the front is dropped about 2 inches and the rear one. i did this over a period of a week because i read you need to the let shock equalize. by the way they are stock shocks. so my question is are some spring rated for stiffness. mine says 350p on the rear and 450p on the front. they feel insanely stiff. let me know

The spring rate is the stiffness and I would greatly expect that stock shocks even on their best day new would be pretty hopelessly out of their league with those kinds of rates. Don't know the car or your preferences but the spring rates might work however better dampers should be in your future.

 

You could also possibly be riding on your bumpstops. Raise the car up a bit to see if it rides better.

 

i dont think its riding that low. i think the springs are so damn stiff. my back it already sore. man, im going to have to think of a good excuse to buy some omnipowers. so a 450p spring is really stiff? what are the ground controls?

 

I have 400's on the front and 450's on the rear. I would describe it as "very firm" but it does not cause me back pain.

 

yeah i guess the bumpers were still there and it was riding on them. they are off now. ill give the struts one more week until they start to suck
