Default b16'd EK exhaust options

i'm doing the jdm b16 into my 97 hatch and since now on my dx motor i have the useless apex'i n1 catback , after the swap this week i want to purchase something better...my question is what application do i purchase? for instance would a 99-00 si catback fit w/out modification? because after i buy it i don't want to go through the hassle of going to a muffler shop i want bolt on and go...any input from you swapped ek's would be greatly appreciated! thanks, Matt

99-00 Si catbacks won't fit without modifications. Best exhaust would be the mugen twinloop

^^^ he's right, the coupe exhaust is roughly 6" too long in the rear section.

i went with the buddy club Pro spec exhaust on my 98 hatch with B series. the only thing i really didn't like is that id doesn,t have the angled exit, but is one of the best sounding exhaust i have heard in a long time, you might also try the hks hiper, it sounds and looks better but also costs more, has smaller piping, and IS NOT stainless steel all the way back.

but to answer your question...any exhasut desinged to fit you car will still fit it al long as you use the factory cat or a high flow made for a 96-00

here is a pic of it for ya

and if your wondering the buddy club DID NOT burn the bumper like that.....the icy hawt stunna that owned the car before me had the fartcan touching the bumper

The mid pipe will fit fine, but the axleback is too long.

I have the mid pipe off an eg coupe on my ek hatch. Eg coupe and Ek coupe full catbacks are also interchangeable so I would think Ek coupe mid pipes would also fit on EK hatches. You'd have to run a standard under the chassis cat converter off a Si or Ex etc.

My JIC Bullet fits both my EG and EK with no modification.

a dx/cx cat back will bolt sraight up to a b16 header with no mods. The only thing is you won't have a cat and if you are running an obd2 ecu it will throw a code for secondary o2. If you are running a obd1 or a jdm ecu you will be fine.
