changing tranny fluid
99 ss i already got most of the fluid pumped out but now i can't get the drain bolt to budge and don't want to crack the casing! lefty loosey, righty tighty or what need help fast! please help me out
I am probably going to get made fun of for this, but we were changing the tranny fluid on my buddies old pos and we had a stuck bolt too.
After wd40 and stuff wouldn't work, we took an old breaker bar with a socket on it and put a floor jack under the handle. Its amazing how a ton and a half on a breaker bar can get an old bolt free like its nothing.
(Yeah, its probably dangerous for the car, the tool, and us, too. It did work, though)
edit:
BTW, I hope it doesn't sound like the stuck bolt was supporting the whole weight of the car or anything before it broke free. It came loose pretty much as soon as we applied pressure with the jack. Of course, if it hadn't we probably would have shattered the breaker bar, or worse.

I used a 1 inch breaker bar to bust the torque on it I have found that if you have a little muscle a quick jerk action with the breaker bar will bust it lose than tring to slowly turn it////
Yea that bolt was a real bitch to take off my ss. The whole car was mvoing back and forth while we were trying to turn it. Eventaully my football/weightlifting friend got it off. It'll give just give it some muscle and dont give up lol.
