Default No dumptube for now. how safe?

How safe is it to run with no dumptube? the only reason i'm doing this is because my friend is making me one for basically free and he can't do it for another couple of weeks, i was just wondering if, since i have everything ready to bolt up, if i could just run with no dumptube for the time being. could this damage anything? or what could happen w/o one? thanks

your engine bay will get really dirty. it won't hurt anything, but if it dumps directly near the intake filter your car is going to lose power.

I've been running without a dumptube for a little over a week now. I've gone to full boost 5-6 times and my radiator is starting to get a little soot on it. As long as you dont boost, then the wastegate wont open and no exhaust gas will come out of it.

yah, no harm...unless of course your WG outlet is pointing at your radiator hoses or AC lines. I recall seeing pics on here of an engine bay after the owner had run his turbo with no dumptube. He burned right through the rubber hoses in his car. I cant remember if it was radiator or AC hoses though, but it didn't look pretty.

if its facing the ac condensor (if you have one still) it can melt the condensor.

otherwise, just like others said, just dirty engine bay.
