LS/Vtec with JRSC... Questions.
I want to have a daily driver and a fun car to drive around town this summer. I am thinking about buying a low milage LS (100kish, well maintained, good compression... Just got to find one). I also want to get a supercharger for it. I don't race but do do spirited driving. The supercharger would be in my power band usage.
So with that set aside. What about putting a Vtec head on an relatively stock LS bottom end? Not your normal noob questions.
-I would be using a b16 head, vtec conversion kit, new oil pump, water pump, timing belt, and would only rev to around 7500, or whenever the SC stops making power. I have no intentions on spinning it to 8k.
-I would really want to not spend too much money on the LS/Vtec conversion. I can get the head for 300 from a friend, 300 for the conversion kit, 300 for pumps and maintainence goodies, and 100 for other misc. stuff. Is this doable with this budget?
-I would be running low boost SC, so no need for me to build the bottom end.
Dumb idea to run a SC with Vtec head? Would I get the JRSC designed for the b16/18 or the b18b1 head?
