Does anyone make lugs that are slightly longer than usual so they can stick out of the rim a bit so that you can tighten them without the socket scratching up the rim?

 

I'm not sure how long you need but another option that I have seen is a maufacture (i think gorrilla) makes lugs with the socket covered in rubber or a urthane so it protects the surface of the wheel. Skunk 2 makes some extended wheel studs and a few other companies that I can not think of right now.
