No, not only did he spell Cylinders wrong. SI's dont use them, There Calipers.+

If this IS a real SI, itle have 4 wheel Disc, not Disc\drum. 3k is way to much, if hes willing to "cover" that its not a real SI, Then im sure theres other **** wrong with it, when you go there. Bring 2g's, and ask him, "Its an SI huh? those are kinda rare, then look at the brakes. if it has drums tell him, this isnt an SI," If he still continues to argue that it is, "Then say where are the 4 wheel disc?" before he can answer, Ill only give you 2g's for this car, thats it.

um didnt 90-91 only have rear discs it might have only been 91. thats an 89.

hmmm, from what I remember, all SI's have 4 wheel disc.

 

yeah, 88-89 crx si's had rear drums.

it looks good, bring a magnet to make sure that the professional didn't use bondo except to cover the seams. pay 3000? do you have 3000? if you have the money, go the extra mile and get a nice one like this. if you would have to finance it a lot, get something that's good but not perfect.

 

i believe there was a post not too long ago stating that not all si's came with 4 wheel disc brakes. so this could be a leginimate si.

 

Yeah only 90-91 crx si has 4 wheel discs..

And that car is nice..Your in ohio so 99% of the crx's will have rust..This one has been restored with new metal and new paint..If it had less miles it may be worth 3k..but with over 200k miles no.. offer the guy $2000 and dont give over $2500..Because afterall its just a high mileage 89 honda..

yeah only 90-91 Si's had disk brakes in the back. the car is clean but not worth $3000. i wouldnt pay more than $2000 for a stock crx no matter how good it looked. i understand that a lot of people would rather buy a clean untouched car but at the same time it has to be for a reasonable price.

yep nice car....I'd really look under and behind the rear fenders. It says sheet metal replaced and repainted, meaning he prolly had rust and had it cut out and rewlded. The is ok as long as they did a good job undercoating and sealing over the welded part.

damn now you guys got me worried that this isnt an si, is there any other distinguishing marks besides the si on the hatch? It seems that were not in concensus about wether or not the car is really an si, would the vin number tell me? it does have a sun roof does that make it an si?

 

unless im mistaken, only si comes with a moonroof? im not sure about crx, but in know with the hatch they only come on si's. if so, that is definitly an si. but try to get it down to like 2500 at the most like everyone else has said

 

it looks pretty clean, it depends how the motor runs, than from there make him an offer!!!!! btw i got my crx for $3500 with 214000 miles!!!

well Si's have electric sunroofs. you can probably get the vin number and call the honda dealer and they can tell you if the car originally was an Si. but im pretty sure that its an Si, well at least it looks like it to me, but its still overpirced.

90 and 91 SI's

 

i'd offer 2500 for it, and go from there, but i wouldnt go any higher than 27-2800. i'd DIE to get one in that good shape, but 3k is pushing it..

 

There are people who would kill to have an EF that clean (including me). Definitely get it. Offer 3K, he'll take them.
