my girlfriend is selling her civic....and i'm getting it ready for sell, but she's got a CEL. I had her go by and get the code pulled, and guy told her it was P0400, which is Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Malfunction, and he told her it was the code for when you don't click your gas cap 3 times, haha. Either way, he cleared the code for her..and yesterday, after almost a week, it popped back on.

not sure if this is a common problem or anything...but just wondering what i can do to kill the code, for good. Block off plate maybe?

the car only has 17k on it..so i highly doubt it's clogged.

Im not sure if the 01-05 Civic's have EGR valves.

i haven't ever looked at her engine...but that's the code she was told
