A strange question, but I need some pro HT Advice.
Matt in Austin here,
I obtained a 94 Accord, 2 door, Leather, with an H22A and 5 speed tranny for 3 grand. I have invested about 1000 dollars ontop, so my total investment is at about 4,000. I had a front end collison, which estimated 800 to fix. I want a turbo car, as I hear a all motor honda doesn't pull much Horsepower, but I'm sure that comment will be proven wrong here in a few posts. What do I do ? I leave for my duty station (Marines) in December, so I will have cash before I leave, and much cash after. What do I work towards ? I had an offer on Ebay for 6.5K for the car. Should I get a stock Accord (love Accords) and work with the f22 stock motor ? What do you guys think ? Email nsxavatar@msn.com if you have any awesome tips, anything'd help alot.
USMC Kicks.

6.5k would be a nice little return for your investment (2.5k profit of course) especially for a car.
F22 is a good motor to turbo (keep searching the site and you'll find a few threads on F22 Vs H22 and whatnot).
December......well that's about 6 months away hmmm.....First, take a look at how much money you have. If its less than $1000 then I'd say turbos are probably not the best choice to start. Then again if you have some $$ to spend I'd say research first.
Find out the right type of block, what needs to be done to it, find a good machine shop to do the work for you (by work I mean block and head things), etc... Also, look at vendors and compare prices always look for a good price but, make sure the place is reliable and delivers what you ask nothing more nothing less.
Don't forget the other pieces though. If you go turbo then you're going to need some proper cooling, space, custom pieces, hoses, electronics, etc...
Then you have labor. If you let a shop do it then ask to see previous work/prices and whatnot. If you do it yourself then try to look at other people's setup, get a manual, and find a friend or shop that'll help you out when you get in trouble.
I would say mainly:
Look to see if you really want to spend all those hours doing this project. If you can answer "yes" then give it your all and good luck. If you have to question yourself on it then I'd say keep researching.....
Oh and USMC does kick ***.

Okay, well to be exact the car came with
Full 2.5 inch Megan Racing Exhaust, header back
VAFC
The right ECU
Turbo timer and a boost gauge
(No turbo!)
Has a Water Temp, Volt and Oil Pres Gauge all wired
Nice tach, AFR Gauge, and a custom sound system.
Its worth good money, but my front end damage is kinda hard to look at lol, its not bad, just ugly.
My main concern is, if I buy a stock accord, Ill be too lazy to doa h22a swap if thats whats best. The 604WHP accord on HT, is it a f22 ? I need to know these small details

The car almost certainly had a turbo in it before, which might explain the price bro...what i would suggest is to keep the car, and you have a good powerplant to start with so why not work with it.
I think you should have the motor taken apart and checked out to see what kind of damage the previous owner might have put on it. Make sure you sit down and make a list of the parts you need with the lowest and highest prices for each written next to them, then tally up those numbers and see what kind of budget window you are working with, that way out the gate you know whether or not you'll have that kind of money.
Oh, yea, and the 6500 is a steal if you can get it with the car having 800 bucks worth of damage on it.

I know the previous owner, turbo was the next step but they never got there. So the engine is just fine and dandy. What preperations do I need to make to turbo a h22 correctly ? Ihear about the AME EMS thingy, and whatnot, what do I need to have so this will run correctly ?

I want it to be streetable, goal is to beat WRX's and the likes. Corvettes, stuff like that. Pretty much beat the people who think they're 60K stock car is the ****, and they laugh when they pull up next to you and you drive an accord.

WRX's are a possibility. Corvette's on the other hand........you'd be wise to stay away from those cars, especially the C6's. Those things are just beasts. If the vette ever has the "Lingenfelter" bagde, then simply give the driver a thumbs up+smile and don't even try it.

604hp lol good luck puttin all that power down on street tires.

you know, its my opinion that the H22 is just too much work to do a FI setup, since you automatically have to re-sleeve it anyway if you go FI. F22's are cheap and relatively easy to find. i say find an f22 block and a f22a6 head (this one flows the best) and boost that baby. while the motor is out of the car, you might as well have some work done to it (you can choose to do rods and pistons if you want to run a lot of boost). depending on the turbo, you can make 300whp and almost the same torque value with relatively low boost (12-15psi).
so i say sell the H22, keep the tranny (shorter ratios than the f22 tranny) and get yourself some boosted f series action going on.
Mike (schmuckingham on a-d) made 300 HP and 312 lb/ft at 13 psi with a crappy flowing f22b2 head and a pte sc61 turbo, and theres even more potential with the f22a6 head. good luck this winter

Your going to have to pretty much build a track car to outrun most vettes you see on the street for $60,000, especially C5's and C6's (both of which would stomp a mud hole in you on the street even with a decently tuned turbo setup, think traction...think FF vs. FR on street tires).
WRX's are tricky, you could find one with just the BOV and exhaust and probobly run pretty even with him...then you could find one heavily built that actually probobly would run with a C5 or C6 on the street...and then you'd understand why they'd laugh.
If either of those cars cost $60,000...my advice would be to slow down, give the thumbs up and let them pass...cause your either looking at a heavily modified STi or a Z06...and that my friend has every right to laugh at a turbo accord...or any turbo honda for that matter on the street...lol.

Is it possible to do this at all ? Money really isn't a problem, I just need to know if its reallly possible. I hear you can use a CRV I think it is, drive train on an accord, what about all these hearsays? (This is IceManAccord, lost my pass for that account, only have it on other PC)
