Default 88 si motor in a 91 crx si, any wiring differences??

i put a 88 crx si motor in my 91 crx si and i used the 88 si wiring and i noticed on the injector resistor box side theres a white plug with 8 pins on the crx body side and on the 88 si engine wiring harness it has a 6 pin connector, does anyone know what the other 2 pins are for on the body side of my crx si?? or if anyone can point me to a 91 si online manual, ive looked at 88-89 manuals and it doesnt mention these wires, thanks

i know the 88 harness is really weird compared to other years. try to find a 90-91 harness if possible, otherwise you'll have rewire a lot.

Always use the harness that came with the car and modify it to fit the "new" motor.

he has been paying attention in honda class.

You should use the engine harness that came with that chassis so that all the connections match the chassis harness wiring. If you were going Si to Si... there are no changes at the engine. Everything would be the same, so use the same year engine harness.

Good that you fixed it, but for future reference for others, you want to just use the harness that came with the car because it would have plugged in exactly the same

the car came with an ls motor and had bunch of problems and who ever put in the motor hacked up the wiring harness and i didnt want to bother with cleaning it up, and since the si swap came with everything intact i figured it couldnt be that different in wiring, which it wasnt. just switched a few pins and viola no more CEL
