No, not true. If your getting a complete swap the axles that come with the engine will be just fine. Where are you getting the swap from BTW?

Yes, the spline is larger (36mm) on the 98 Spec ITR axles. The USDM ITR axles have a 32mm spline. If you want to run the bigger spline, you'll need the JDM 5-lug conversion. But you can always run any USDM B-series axles with your swap.

ok so you guys are saying if I get a complete jdm itr swap that came with the bigger axles I can use those with my four lug stuff, But if I brake one of the axles I can just simple replace it with any usdm b-series axle and it will work just fine despite one bigging larger then the other. (Maybe I should just do a ctr swap like I did in my eg.) I didnt have any problems with that

I'm pretty sure he's saying that if you'll have to do a JDM 5 lug conversion in order to use the axles that will come with the JDM swap. It'd probably be much easier for you to find some USDM B series axles.

All USDM ITR swaps have smaller 32mm axles.
96-97 JDM ITR swaps have the smaller 32mm axles.
98+ JDM ITR swaps have the larger 36mm axles.
