tack welded nut on shock body
hey guys, im coming along with installing my new suspension on the CRX, but just as I was about to bolt everything up, i realized i had forgotten about the tack welded nut on the shock body of the OEM shock. My new coilovers lack this nut, so I can't get my LCA bolt tightened up.
I made a trip to Home Depot, and picked up a couple nuts I thought might fit, but it looks like I'll have to head to Honda to pick this up.
My question is, will I have to have this nut tack welded onto the coilovers Im installing, or is that unnecessary?
Thanks all!

you should have brought the shock bolt to home depot, i know they will have one, or just go to the hardware store they should definatly have it, you dont have to weld it on just get a lock nut/stop nut- the ones with the nylon inside so they dont back off

thnx for the quick response!
well, get this - I DID take the bolt with me, but when I tried a few nuts, lo and behold nothing fit, even when I cranked it (I suspected that perhaps the rust on the threads was preventing me from hand tightening, but I was wrong).
When I took my LCA bolt and threaded it in the nut which is tack welded on my OEM shock, it threaded perfect, and even with simple hand tightening. I'm confuzzzzled...

honda suspension hardware is metric fine thread. which means in our "standard" part of the world it is really hard to find matching threads for a 14mm thick bolt. you can find them in any hardware for 10mm and smaller but not the larger ones your seeking.
no you dont have to tack weld it, so just find a metric bolt the same diameter and matching locknut and you will be good to go.
