if you want black, your best bet is to just find a civic with black interior and swap it. You can paint, dye, etc but it never looks the same in my opinion.
hes right you wont get it just right like stock. regular paint will look waaay too glossy and bad. and probably chip real easy on the bendable surface. you're best bet is dying or using a flexible paint (like bumper/trim paint) and try to get it in semi gloss not gloss.

There is a product called SEM. Its an interior paint and it looks absolutely fantastic. Just make sure you prep the plastics with the SEM cleaner. It gets all the oils and grime off the parts before you paint them. Look at the Sherwin williams stores, They carry it.

I disagree. I have a cx hath and it came with ugly blue interior. I swapped out the blue dash for an oem black dash and then decided to paint the door panels black because i couldn't find cheap oem black panels. With the paint i used it looks Exactly the same as OEM. I bet you 100 dollars you could not tell the difference between mine and oem black panels. They match my dash perfectly, i got it from Autozone and its like 4 bucks a can, Black vinyl paint.

I used the exact same stuff to paint my grey armrest to match my black interior. Great stuff
. Prepping with the SEM Soap will ensure that the paint adheses to the surface and prevents it from chipping or cracking.

the dye is ok if you know exactly how to do it....
but paint .....if u decide to do it...
prepare for touch ups..alot of chipping and wearing will happen..
