N/A what to do for traction.. HELP!!
Hey.. my motor is currently being built.. B20 vtec 13.1 CR TODA SPEC C'S fully built from bottom end up.. tranny is stock b16 with quaife lsd in a 99 si em1.. i hadnt even thought of what i will do for traction until now and was wondering if anyone thinks catching traction on some G-FORCES will be hard to do with my engine.. also just to add in does anyone think its necessary for me to get MSD ignition.. runnin the hondata s200 program as well.. help me out.. thanks
yea but i dont know if that would be necessary.. i mean with an all motor engine do you really think im going to need traction bars??

Are you kidding me? If you are getting all th traction you need than no you probably don't need them. However if you are having traction problems then get them for sure.
What do traction bars have to do with if you have FI or NA?

if you have problems getting traction due to wheel hop on na or fi..u deffinately should get some stiffer mounts and an h brace/traction bars would be a good start also u could try letting out some psi out of tires

On my b20vtec slightly built im putting like 195whp and on dry road in 1st gear if i stomp it, it will break loose at vtec 5800 rpms with yours being fully built i would imagine you wold have similar problems. Im saving up to get traction bars after i rebuild my motor.
I have an h22 eg hatch and i cant get traction till 3rd on street tires due to wheel hop. Tractions bars solved that. If your gonna be drag racing at all which im assuming you willl i would definitely invest in some or just wait until the motor is installed and then decide for yourself if you really need them after a few pulls.
Alright thanks.. and ive seen countless FI motors who arely get any traction at all and rarely find an N/A with that much trouble off the launch.. so no im not kiddin you

Then keep looking, there are plenty of us tractionless NA guys out here. I got wheel hop in 2nd too. Traction bars help a lot. Polyurethane motor mount bushings, stiffer rear spring rate (for less weight transfer during the launch), and taking air out of the tires at the track will help too.
