Gas light
Aight. Newb question.
I was wondering what is the average amount of gas left in the tank once the gas light comes on?
like how far can you travel until empty once it turns on?
I looked in my owners manual, no luck

I asked a guy in our shop the same question. He said its when the fuel gets into the "Reserve" When you buy a tank or see what your tank says, it might say 12 gallons or 20 gallons. Depending on the car, etc. When in actuality, its about 13 gallons or 21. So its actually got a Gallon "Reserve".
Btw don't quote me on that. It was a hell of a long time ago.

^^^^ i think youre right its only about one gallon, thats why i have always heard you get about 20 miles once the light comes on.
and i doubt you will get 60 miles once the light comes on, thats like 3 extra gallons

i would guess about a gallon and a half but you shouldnt let it get that low for three reasons...
1. Makes your fuel pump work harder
2. All the crap at the bottom of the tank gets sucked into the lines and clogs up your fuel filter too
3. We will have to read the post about your car getting broken into cause you had to leave it on the side of the road to go and get gas.
J/K about that last one but i try to keep my gas above 1/5 of a tank... just somethin weird i do
