tightening steering wheel?
My beater (eg) has suddenly been plagued with the problem of a loose steering wheel. I dont mean there is play in it when turning it, but i mean it physically moves up and down, and side to side on the column. I dont know what could have made it to this but it has about an a 1/2 inch of play up and down, and some side to side aswell.
I havent even looked at it yet seeing that i just got back in town but I was wondering if that happens to anyone and what you did to fix it.

Why don't you take off all the plastic shrouds around the steering column? Then you can look for where the looseness is really located. Like maybe the tilt-wheel hinge doesn't lock into place?

Im going to look at it today. It started happenening during my vacation and I havent got a chance to look at it. I dont have a tilt because its a 92 dx, but i think i may have to pull the thing apart and tighten the 19mm nut.
