what does it mean when i start my car and the idle drops (nearly stalling out), then goes up and idles high around 1,200 rpms? this motor is a B16A2

 

check the iac... and make sure the idle speed is correct

 

it means that you need to check your idle air control valve. Its on the back of the intake manifold, pull it off, its 2 12mm bolts, one is longer than the other so remember which one came from where, unplug it and make sure the screen isn't dirty, if it is dirty clean it, let it dry or run compressed air through it, then put it back on and fire her up.
If it still does the same thing unplug it, if it stalls then replace it b/c thats what mine did, just the other day, i replaced it with a spare one i had laying around and viola.
check the voltage at the TPS, it should be .5V closed throttle and 4.5V wide open throttle and the voltage should increase smoothly while opening the throttle.
