avid h22 mounts not fitting 95 civic
i got a 95 dx with a h22 mount kit trying to mount a 99 h22. the only mount that lines up is the driver side. the rear mount will not go in by itself and the passenger side gets stuck on the tranny bolt and the shift arm gets stuck on the mount
any one know wtf is wrong here? or if this happened to u?

i've heard a lot of bad things about the Avid mounts, including my own bad experience using them on a customer's car.
have you tried loosening the mounts on the engine to allow a little more movement?

there is seriously 1" -2" of space from the mount hole on the pass side
i got hcp mounts for my 96 civic it went right in after i cut the craddle

Try getting in the Rear mount first and then do the other mounts. I know my friend had the same problem when he did his swap (but with HCP mounts), but when he did the rear mount first the engine went in with some minor prying.

if it's that bad,all i can suggest is higher quality mounts.
just to be sure, has the car been wrecked?how did the stock mounts line up-any problems there?
also, the car wasn't originally an automatic was it?

I have never had experience with avid mounts myself but ive only heard bad things about them. They dont line up, they break, etc I would say save yourself the headache and get some hcp or other mounts. I used the hcp on my h22 eg and i have no complaints.

Dude your not alone I have avid mounts Driver Side / rear mount is good the ****** transmission mount is a pos if sits wrong for one and second it doesnt sit flush on the Tranny I had to put like 3 spacers in between the bottom of the mount and the tranny or else it would be kinda just floating sigh just waiting to get my ECU / Dizzy problems finished before I grab a Hasport Tranny Mount or Place Racing if they ever get their site working again
ok i got the driver side and rear in the passenger side is off by 1 1/2" so i driled a new hole into the frame mount and go tit to sit in there with a few cuts and bending just hope it holds
FYI, same Avid = Enjo = Totem = Yonaka = any mount kit made coming out of Ontario, Canada

To the orignal poster, you need to bolt up the rear bracket to the mount first before you do the side mounts. Otherwise, especially with the Avid/Totem/Enjo mounts, you'll never get the rear one bolted in since the motor sits cockeyed and you can't twist the motor with solid mounts.
