Default CRX D17 swap

Looks like you could bore it out to a 1.8 and still have room, not saying that's the plan I'll be looking into putting a D17 in soon as I can find a good price on one from a EX civic. If anyone has any good info on this motor let me know. Seems to be little on the search button here on it.

This is a D17 block, was looking at it and noticed very thick cylnder walls. compared to the B16

This is a B16 block

ennhhhh WRONG.

This is an established method for building a stroker d-series. Pro's: torque galore for a NA street car. Con's: piston speeds are sOO fast they don't like the revs (keep it below 7g's), these don't like turbo's (the lateral force on the pistons because of stroke length is so long is immense) boost + lateral piston force = window in block where you didn't want one.

It will go into the 1.6 blocks, the best one to use is the y8 due to the similar oil pump housing for the dipstick. If you want to do it for a fun project go for it, I would not reccomend it for any form of racing powerplant.

If you are going to do the d-17a2 swap, it would be cool to weigh it, and take pictures of the install so people have a good comparison of how it compares over a y8, head swap, or b16a1 swaps.
