How often do cai filters have to be changed, mines been on for like 5 years now.

Change it, its cheap.

 

You don't need to change it unless it is torn up. Buy K&N filter charger kit $10 to clean it up. It will work good like new.

 

Mine was mangled.

 

As long as it's physically in good condition, it should be good.

I've used mine for probably about 5 years and it's fine as long as you clean it when it gets filthy.

 

mine was almost black and 3 years old and the charge kit made it look new and pink

 

THe K&N filter gets all the grease off the filter right?...Does K&N have a filter with an extension on it? I have some off-brand filter, but it has an extension because my intake doesn't cross the end of my tire well.
