Default Opinion on Skunk2 Type3 Cams?

What do u guys think about the skunk2 type3 cams. U think they are worth it? Local aftermarket shops say stock itr valve springs can handle the cams. Is it true?

I wouldn't run stock springs on skunk stage 2's, much less the 3's, you'll need an upgraded valvetrain.

yup because to get the most hp out of those type 3s youll need to rev high and will need a new valvetrain to do so. Importreview is testing the 3s right now so look out for a dyno graph in the next couple of days.

Yes, you still need to upgrade your valvetrain. The stage 3 cams have a lot of lift which means you will probably get spring bind with the stock springs.

valvesprings are also dependent upon the lift of the cams, not just the rpms.
stick with stage 2 if your going that route.

I would think it is worth it if you would upgrade your valvetrain, specially when your planning to do cam work (stage 3). Not worth blowing your engine cause you wanna cut corners, couple hundreds is not too much. Just my 2 cents.....
