You have 49 posts and 18 of those are created topics, they're all horribly vague, all have been answered repeatedly, and would be much better suited to a good search rather than posting these stinkers.

The answer? As high as your motor makes power.

 

Take it to 18,000 (just like F1 cars) Oh and make sure you get it on video

I don't have much room to talk seeing as I only have 576 posts....but if thats the case then he's doing a real fine job, a whole 49 posts haha.

now, to sort of answer your question. i will be turning my 2.1 liter ls/vtec to about 10,000. reason being is i have a fully ported and polished and built gsr head. not to mention my bottom end could take a bomb being dropped on it

well it will all depend on what type of valvetrane you have in your engine, the type of cams, the porting on the head, the type of intake manifold, the type of exhaust setup, it all depends on alot of things, but all of this adds up to one thing, where you stop making power, you will never know till you put it on a dyno and find out. but dont rev it higher than the motors original redline unless you upgrade to stronger springs and titanium retainers.

 

If your Valvetrain is built Take it to 10k anymore than that and most basic engines will stop producing power. If you have a stock motor I wouldnt go past 8200.

i dont think he was trying to ridicule the low post count. i think he's pointing out the fact that the majority of his posts are crappy.
