when autozone "re-charges" your battery does that mean its like brand new again? or does that just get you a little more life out of the battery and you should replace it soon?

the battery is going on 5 years and interior lights are starting to look dim

 

Recharging a battery is recharging a battery. It juices it back up. Since your battery is 5 years old, I would just replace it.

But if you're cheap, just get it recharged.

what #'s should i look for when the are testing it?

should get 12 volts with the battery, and 14 volts with the engine started, if you are not getting 14 volts when your car is started, your alternator is not charging
