All Wheel Drive Prelude...possible?
yes have you seen last months article of sport compact car, they have an all wheel drive hyndai with turbo. get 2 h22a engines then youll have all wheel. have fun putting it in
Sounds better and costs less. Its a stock h22a, in fact it is almost done. I had a 93 prelude s and managed to find an h22a at 23k. A friend of mine is doing the drop for $750. What all do I need to do to get this thing something worth bragging about?

oh, and forget about the all-wheel drive thing, that's what subaru's are for.
waste of money, invest in turbo and i guarantee you'll be a happy camper.

Believe it or not there is one that I have seen....They took an all wheel drive motor out of an Eclipse. They had pictures of it and everything. It was the 4g63? (damn engine code) It was outta of Thialand of Malaysia (spelling sucks it's too early) It was actually on this board I think. They also had a civic with an sr20dett drop. Some wild stuff over there...
I'm not gonna give anything away, cause this was a thing that someone else was thinking of. He's probably not gonna do it, but I hate running around giving off thoughts of other folks...
Think: CRV drivetrain and lots of cash.

im thinking of WRX drive shaft and axle plus the honda insight engine for madd gas mileage savings plus stick a t66 turbo with a 600 hp intercooler and call it daily driven
i didn't think that anyone had ideas for this but I've kind'a dropped that idea b/c seems too much to and i don't even rally, i just figured my pick-up and traction at start off. Now my main concern is taking care of my axles. This summer i may do a little more 2 bring my times down to 12's....hehehe
If I were you I'd go rip the tranny out or a 88-91 civic wagon. Many are awd, so it shouldn't be that hard to find one. It's a 6 speed, which you might like, and it'd be really cheap, so you'd have money left over for everything you needed to cross it over. I don't know much about it other than that, but I think a honda one would be easiest. Heres some quick specs I found on the civic wagon if they help, theres also an accord wagon (awd), that may have a diff tranny. http://civic.vtec.net/civic-88/specifications.html Good luck!
AWD Lude would be awsome, and anyone looking for some crazy low ET's might want to consider it. It will give you alot more control when drag racing, front wheel drive cars can be hard to handle when launching, that is if you have a ton of power. If you dont believe me, go talk to the guys with Eclipse GSX's, they love it, and it gives them an advantage at the launch and control of the vehicle. Couldnt you just buy a custom trany? I dont know for sure if this is an option, but a custom trany would probably work best, maybe have the power 60f/40r. Your 60' times will lower by alot. Does anyone know if a custom trany could be built? If so, how much would it cost? If I had to guess, I would say it would be a t least 2k, probably more. But it might be worth it if you are putting down 425+whp.
