Default A couple H22 Crx problems. Help please...

#1 The speedometer is not working. Does anyone know what color wires are for the speed sensor which go to the ecu? I want to run them straight from the ecu to the sensor.

#2 Secondary butterfly's are not opening up. Does anyone know what causes them not to open up? Maybe someone can tell me everything that needs to be hooked up to make them work. (Can you test if butterfly's open just by sitting in neutral and revving the motor?)

I would just use A service manual and wiring diagram for what ever ecu your running. The best I can do is give you this to go by until tomorrow

It should be A 3 wires for the vss, with one blk/yel=12v switched, black=ground, org=vss signal to ecu B10

The butterflys are run by vacuum, you can stick them open if you want. Search the prelude forum and it should tell you how to do it......

I know that vtec is not working because speedometer is not working, but do the secondary butterfly valves have anything to do with vtec? Would the butterfly valves still open if vtec is not working?

Also can i check if the butterfly valves open by just sitting in neutral and revving the engine?

by defualt the butterflies are stuck open. ECU sends signal to close them when starting then at a given RPM opens them up for better top end flow. If you arent using a p13 or a p72 you have no controls for them and have a few options. Leaving them stuck open. Removing them from the intake manifold alltogether or getting an rpm activated switch.

I am using a p13 ecu. I think i have everything hooked up. Is there any type of plug vacuum line that would prevent them from opening up?

I will take pics today and post them up.

just dont wire them up.... im assuming you modified a civic harness for the swap. If you did then that harness has no plug for the IABs so unless you wire them up pinout a17 and ground if i remember correctly they will be stick open all the time. My best friends h22 hatch has been running almost 2 years now and the only thing we really noticed when hookin them up was better gas mileage. He ran and trapped the same times at the track with them both stuck open and working properly.

that would be yes, because its a single stage manifold, silly.

Just dont hook up the secondarys via vacuum they will stay open. Plug each end if you want. Vtec far as I know has nottin to do with the speedo cuz i am not even running one. And I am sure vtec must be working....
