Would It Be Wise To Purchase An R From Out of State
The R's limited production has caused me to run into another problem. The only cars that fit my needs, mileage and price, seem to be out of state. I was just wondering if anyone has ever purchased an R this way and what you're experiences were.

I had mine shipped 500 miles from out of state. Just be careful in choosing your method of transport. Make sure the warranty will transfer too.
Now, if you can't get the time off for travel... different story. Thou shat man, 1000 miles in a day isn't hard.
nothing wrong with getting an R from another state. I got my 98 in Jan 99 when there were no new ones left in the US. Just be sure to familiarize yourself with all the relevant laws (registration, insurance etc) before you set out to get the car. that way you won't run into any surprises. go there, check it out and drive it back.

I got mine in FL. CarMax shipped it for $300. Didn't have to pay taxes twice or anything like that if that's what you're worried about.

Oh man...I love to drive and the funnest drive of my life was bringing my teg back from columbas ga. I only had a one way plane ticket, but I didn't let the guy I bought the car from know that. I was just mad scared I was going to show up and the car was going to be a gsr conversion or just all D@cked up, but I got to atlanta at like 4 PM and by the time we got ot columbas and get everything sorted it was like 9:30 before I left, so I just drove all night because I had to be in DC at noon the next day. It was good s@hit.
shipped mine from Alabama to Hawaii. If I were on the mainland, I'd just fly down and drive it back. I had mine trucked from AL to L.A., then shipped to Hawaii. car had some dings from shipping and also had an extra 175 miles put on it between pickup and delivery. hope they weren't put on 1/4 mile at a time! I'd spend some time talking to the transport company if you decide to truck it. I definately don't recommend A to Z shipping.
anyway, it was all worth it as the car is amazing! don't let something like buying from out of state stop you from owning an ITR if that's the car you have decided you want. would I do this again? yes, but I'd be a bit more selective on who gets to touch my car enroute. good luck!
