16" wheel owners...which tire? (azenis discont in 215 45)
Right now I'm on 215 45 16 azenis and I love em. I still have about 2 more track events + some street use left on them, but since they are discontinued, What are you guys going to get next?
The RT615 are 205 40, I don't want those cause I'll loose the width.
Only other tire I found in that size is Hankook Ventus R-S2, they look pretty aggressive and sound pretty sticky, 200 treadwear. But are they any good?
What to do?? what to do??

Falken will be releasing the new Azenis in a 215/45/16 the 3rd quarter of this year. I went with the new Hankooks and think they are pretty nice, although my only experience thus far is street driving.
I've had the Z212 on Shenandoah, and they did OK.
I was a little under-tyred because DTD sent me 205-45-16 instead of 215-45-16 and then didn't respond to my queries about the incorrect shipment.
I think they're just fine, though my initial impression wasn't good because the last time I was on track was with RA1's. I also needed more tread on the ground, I think, than I was getting with the 205's.
The car was pretty squirrely in the bowl at about 55, but I really think I just needed more tyre.

I have a set of the RS-2 Z212 sitting waiting to be put onto wheels. Everything I've checked on them puts them side by side with the new Azenis RT615

Great street tire, I haven't used them on a track.

I don't think I've heard someone report use on a track before you, George. Did they survive? Any sign of overheating/odd wear/greasiness?

I ended up going with the 225/45/16 instead, it was a $2 difference per tire.

I would have used a 225/45 as well with the RS212's I have as well, but I don't think it would have cleared the rear trailing arm. I can't even put my pinky in between the sidewall and the trailing arm. The rims are Kosei K1 16x7.5 in +43mm offset. I wish I had something closer to a +41 or +40.

No rubbing on mine. 16x7 +50 offset.

No sign of overheating, no greasiness. They just didn't stick like the RA1, that's all!
The only thing wrong was that they were just too small for my motor and suspension, but they held up well.
