How loud?
Search seems to be not working so I just thought I'd throw the question out there.
I know exhaust discussions have been beaten to death here, but I still need an answer. I'm replacing my exhaust, I already have headers (4:1) and a CAI. I've narrowed it down to Fujitsubo, spoon or Mugen. I'm leaning towards spoon as it is light weight. But I heard that it is just too damn loud even with the silencer. I'm looking at this model
Tail Silencer Street Type INTEGRA TYPE-R DC2 18030-DC2-000
The question I have is will cops drive me nuts, or is it tolerable with the silencer pre VTEC?
Thanks.

But you do have a spoon cat back? Are you happy with it? Any advice would be awesome.
The dude at my local performance shop said to skip the b-pipe and just go axle back....

Sure, maybe it's "50 state" legal, but I wouldn't be surprised if counties/cities/townships have their own Noise ordinances.

The best trade-off is obviously the twin-loop, like the Mugen. It flows well and is relatively quiet. If you're looking for something reasonably priced that is quiet, look at the Apexi World Sport 2 or RS*R ExMag. Having had both of these on my GS-R, I can say that they're VERY streetable.
Should you take the route of a cannister exhaust (fart can), make sure it has a silencer. The fart cans are loud as ****, and buzz like marbles in a tin can at high-RPM.
I'm currently running the T1R SPL exhaust. It's loud, but not quite as bad as the normal T1R system. But 2.5" diameter =

Depends on what model fujitsubo... RM-01A I heard was definitely quieter than my hytech twinloop... although it does come at a premium.

Yes, the RM-01A is pretty quiet. It is a big in terms of cannister mufflers so that definitely helps.
Also make sure that you have a resonator on the system for additional sound deadening. Won't hurt performance.
