Default how do i tighten the hand brake cable?

i know this IS a noob question, but i need help tightening my hand brake on my bb6. to engage the hand-brake, i would have to pull the **** ALL the way up to the max. i want to tighten it so like 4 or 5 clicks would lock my rear wheels. any help is appreciated. i've done a search already but didnt come up with anything. i am either entering the wrong searches or this is so trivial that nobody ever posted it before. thanks in advance.

Remove the console, then tighten the two 10 mm (maybe 12mm, not positive) adjustment nuts. It should be fairly obvious once you remove the console.

hmmm, how would i remove the console?
i'm guessing a stick flathead screwdriver under the console cover and then pop it right off? no screws to unscrew?

there are a few screws to unscrew....look at the base of the console.

I have a 94 lude, and i have 3 on each side in the front and 2 right on the bottom of the stereo. and in the back console i believe that there are about 4 screws holding that down. Please someone correct me if i am wrong though. hope that this helps.

You don't have to adjust in underneath the car?

I can get to mine through the change pocket thingy. Its a 92Si. It would seem excessive to remove the whole thing.... but maybe some have too.

on the BB6 you most definitly cannot adjust the brake from under the coin/ashtay or under the car. you do have to take the center console mostly out, but it's not difficult at all, 4-6 screws from want I remember. kinda like adjusting brakes on a bicicle

Remove all the screws on either side of the console, inside the storage area (if there are any) - also, might be some screws in the cup holder area - unscrew the shift **** if it's a manual, pull the e-brake all the way up, then lift up the console from the back, and pull it all the way off. then you should see the wires from the e-brake leading from the back of the car towards the front.

If it's a 5th gen, you don't remove the hand brake....just pull it up as far as it'll go, and then you can slide the whole console over it. This is how i did it on my 98 lude, and 96 accord. What year is your prelude?

mines 95 but i think it works the same as 5th gen.
what i did was, there were 4 screws on the both side of the console (driver's side and passenger side) and there were 2 screw right below the AC controller, right above the steroe deck. i unscrewed all of them total 10 i think. then unscrew the shift ****, then pull the hand brake ALL the way up, even if you think its all the way up, try a little more, it moves 1 or 2 clicks more. then you just gotta kinda pop the console out and try pulling the console out diagonally, carefully lifting up the corner where it hits the hand brake. it should come out if you slowly move it up.
