not sure where to post this but it has to do with crx's . Do you have more money in your car then what u could sell it for ?

I bought my crx in november 04 . i figured i would put a little money in it have some fun with it and sell it hopefully making some money . Ive never owed a car longer than a year and a half . Well ive done all the body work it has zero rust everything has been addressed , all top of the line stuff well exept the ls but ls with about 10000 on complete rebuild im at 4800 invested , and my plans were to sell it at this point , but i really like this one crx's are so much fun . Well i want more power but if i build the motor to where i want or change engines im gonna have thousands more in it , and i dont see me gettin that back . so i was just wondering how many of you have more than what u could get into your car , and would you stop and sell it and start over again . or is it worth just gettin to where you want no matter the cost . just looking for some opinions thanks . i know the

Well when you look at it from the angle of what can i get for my car then its more of a business. If you like the car, have fun, not a lot of headaches then man its a hobby to most of us cars are hobbies and well hobbies you spend money because you want to, they are fun and its worth the cash.

good reply , guess i over looked that a little on this one . ive built 3 classic cars and bought want i wanted for them and i considered it a hobby but made money on them to . guess i just need to stop thinking so much about profit and just get what i want and like u said just a hobby . this is my first import i have alot more fun driving it then my others , working on it is a bit more of a pain just bc of less room but ive learned alot .

I just do it because I love it.
Especially with EFs and CRXs, old POS's that probably shouldn't deserve 1500 dollar wheels and 5000 dollar motors.
But it's what I grew up on. Its a part of me.
Of course I face critisicism from family/friends/strangers, but it doesn't matter. You do what you want to do and you'll be happy. I try not to make money off cars, because I'm always looking to buy. I try to hustle and make money to SPEND on my car, regardless of what somebody else or a book values it at.

Master Shake i get the same comments with my DSM and now with me picking up the rex i am getting more critism. Mostly from my family since my friends really respect what i do. My step dad rides my *** about it he acts like he didn't rebuild his 350 in his moms tub when he was my age. My brother, Mom, really everyone in my family thinks i am crazy but then again i shut them up. My step dad bought a 4000 dollar 60" flat TV, my brother a h2 hummer and they really don't need those but i need my crx and dsm

It's all about the love of the craft, and hobby. As stated before. I've seen people spend more in Civic than most would spend on an up scare car. One of my friends has about 10 g's in his civic coupe so far. He'll never get that back, but it's his passion.

Any hobby, your gonna spend money. Like everyone said, treat it like a hobby. Its much more rewarding.
I think of it like this:
I can spend $10,000 on this CRX over the last few years, and have a car thats fast, handles excellent and is a blast to drive.
Or, i can be like my friend. He bought a new $20,000 car a few years back, and was only able to sell it for $8000 today.
We both lost money. I just had more fun doing it

you will always catch **** from others, but its your hobby, sure it will get expensive, but think of it this way, you have a great condition rex, why sell it to start over?
