Default 88hf with Si tranny what axles?

Alright I have a DOHC ZC motor with a SI tranny. I dont know what year the Si tranny is but I know I still have the 88hf hubs. What axles would work with this setup? I can get a hold of 90 hubs would that be better for the setup? I searched and really didn't find anything. Thanks

Upgrade to the 90 hubs and run 90-91 si axles

the HF axles will work with the Si transmission, but you should swap out knickles/hubs for ones from DX or Si in order to use the stronger DX/Si axles

upgrade to the 90 si hubs.

go to autozone and buy a halfshaft from 90-91 Civic Wagon AWD 1.6l not the 1.5l. thewy bolt right up, or should.
if you do that use accord xsi axles, they are stronger that si and integra axles. no one really knows becuase everyone uses integra or stock ones.

If you dont want to do that use the xsi passenger axle and the crx si drivers

So regardless of the year of the tranny the HF axles will fit the tranny and hub? The other hubs are 90HF hubs too.

So if I get 90 SI axles it will go into the tranny and my 88 HF hub? Or do I need to get SI hubs? I was told that the axles wouldn't bolt up if the tranny was 90-91 because my hubs are 88. BTW how much do axles run at autozone?

on all d series transmissions 88-91 they have the same splines for the inner part of the cv shafts. (well, except the zc, but we'll ignore that). but the hf and std had smaller hubs, so you need to match the axles to the hubs.

there are more complications when you bring b series in, but with what you're doing just match the axles to the hubs.

So I can run HF axles and it will bolt up to both sides? Thats what im getting from your last post. I just want to make sure before I go autozone.

if you are doing a b-series you need si or dx hubs. teh b16 axles have a differnt number of splines on them and they will not fit into the HF hubs.

if i were you i would just get HF hus so you dont have to worry about this problem in future engine swaps.

The number of splines on the part that goes into the trans are all the same on d series INCLUDING the ZC. If what you saying is true that they are all the same except the ZC then why would si axles fit into the zc tranny? Buy si axles and si 89-91 si hubs.

Why would I get SI axles when I can get HF axles and have it all bought up with out buying new hubs? Are you saying this because the Si hubs/axles are stronger?

the zc is different because it accepts half shafts. i would suggest getting si/dx knuckles because the brakes are safer, and it's one thing you already have if you ever swap the motor. also, i hope you're not running the hf motor, its powerband isn't very good for a close ratio tranny.

The zc does not have to use a halfshaft. even if you have an si trans you can STILL use the have shaft becuase it bolts to the block not to the trans. for stronger ****. upgrade to 90-91 hubs and axles. or integra axles with a halfshaft.

he has a ZC by the way

The dual cam ZC does have a half shaft....you can use 93 integ axles with this set up..

if your using the dual cam Transmission.

you can also bolt up a stock si trans to a dual cam block..
