Ok, I have a set of custom 85mm pistons to use in a b16 block with an ls crank and b16 rods. I've had a change of thought lately and wanted to do a bored out lsvtec with custom rods and a GSR crank to take advantage of the custom pistons. It's either going to be a 1.51 or 1.66 rod/stroke ratio. Any opinions out there on which setup would be better?
Rod to stroke ratio doesnt play that big of a role when buildin a street engine. I say there are other factors that you should look into. What is the final displacement of both the engines going to be?

2.0 is the final displacement. Of course after factoring all the costs, the lsvtec route would cost about 500 more. I'm leaning towards wanting more power higher in the rpm range but I have a feeling getting custom rods might be the deciding factor.

No, it's not the tech43 pistons. I'm going to use Scat b16 rods with a 19mm pin. The pistons are custom ones with a CH of .956. I'm just wondering what people think is the better setup, an lsvtec bored to 2.0 or a b16 bored and stroked to 2.0.
