Default Bike revs high when accelerating????

Whatup ppl..... I did a search and found notihng so here it is..

I been accelerating hard on the straight away in the country and it seems when I do... The Rpms go up like normal then at 8 or 9 when Iam pullin the throttle more it jumps to 13 then back down to 10 then it goes from there. And while it jumps I have no acceleration. someone said something about chain tension... I dont know troo much about bikes but can it be my chain is loose? And when I am accelerating the chain isnt catching? Iam not too familiar with bike repairs can someone please help me out....

Thanks.

Sounds like your clutch is taking a poopity poop. Did you put in weird oil or something?

yea clutch is definately slipping. did you put oil with moly in? moly based oil is so slippery it will not let the clutch discs engage properly and make them slip.

you know, in every bike I've owned i used moly and i never had a problem with the clutch slipping but i have herd of other people say it happened to someone they knew im not sure i believe all the moly BS crap! have you personally used it and did it make your clutch slip? if it did then the rumors could be true, as for me im going to keep on using moly because moly oil is cheaper and for me it works just as good!

OH yea and if its not a serious prob, having a really slippery clutch Ill just leave it because I dont care if it slips, iam not racing at all and dont plan on needing every second to accelerate....

But if it is serious what can I do to correct the problem? I guess I can change the oil and not put that moly stuff in... but right before I got the bike it was maintenanced... so I have abother 1300 miles left on it till I change it...

are you sure you just don't need to adjust your clutch cable? it might just be set too loose? where does it engage? if it engages real far out that might be your problem. i don't think it has anything to do with the oil you are using

well I will be accelerating fast and the needle jumps from like 8 to like 11 or 12 then I either have to switch gears or let up the throttle to let the clutch catch or sumthing.

sounds like your fibers are fried... I have a f4i and my bike would do the same thing. It would hop to 13 grand in the powerband and then drop to like 10 or 11 and keep going. Pull off your clutch cover.. it is like 10 8mm bolts and pull out all of the discs... remember which disc is the outside and which one is the inside... THose are the only 2 that are different.. the rest is just alternating steels and fibers. I would bet that your either your inner or outer fibers are cooked. Dont worry its not that expensive to fix as long as you do it yourself.

Dude, are you for real? You know you are frying your clutch.... why don't you tell everyone the whole story.

Go over to stuntlife.com and read the thread somebody started saying how 'dumb you are.'

You have been chatting someone on im stating that you ride with the clutch lever partially pulled in while you ride and then you wonder why you fry the clutch.

http://stuntlife.com/forums/sh...30231

Save some money. Take the msf class and learn how to ride because obviously you don't know how to, then replace your clutch and actually ride for real.

Just a thought.

Steven

Ok and what does that show???

yesterday I was ridin wit this dude that has been riding for 15 years and I asked him what he thinks of my riding..

I told him I want to take the MSF course and he said there was no need for me... The guy been riding for 15 years I think he knows what he talkin about.

He said I had all the basics down very good.

I still am taking the course, and that conversation above was like the first day I got my bike it was after like 1 hour of riding... When I mean I know how to do everythin I mean The BASIC BASIC BASIC.. Braking acclerating and changing gears....

Now I look back I did sound kind of dumb, but I didnt mean I knew everything I meant all the basics like the basic basic ****.

And that **** has to be reallllllly gay for someone to post a conversation he had with another guy? I would talk **** but it makes no since over the internet.

If you got nutin else better to do then post conversations you had wit some beginner rider over the internet and laugh about it, it just shows how much of a life ppl got... That **** seems to me like maybe the only friend ppl got up on here IS THERE BIKE.

But anyway thanks for the ppl that is helping me out.

when i went to go take the MSF corse, there were people there who had been riding for 10 15 20, their was one guy there in his mid 60s who had been riding since he was a child. at the end of the class the teaching asked, "is their anyone here who feels that this class didn't Greatly Improve your riding skill?" every rider even the veterans all agreed the class was worth every min and every cent.

Well then that is your problem right there. Your bike must be designed to only pop wheelies and not slip the clutch if you are ~400 lbs. Your mission is to now go to mcdonalds and keep eating food until you weigh 400 lbs. Then the issue will be solved

That wasn't me posting a conversation on sl. I just saw it and thought what the hell nobody can be that ignorant.... but you proved me wrong.

Whoever told you not to take the course is a tool in the first place and anyone who will jump on another persons bike and start popping the clutch and riding wheelies has no respect for themselves or anyone else's stuff for that matter.

Good luck with all that, and if you are in florida please don't ride near me.

Thank you and have a nice day.

Steven
