!!!05 Si, Head Swap Not Lucrative!!!
ok a head swap from the type s to the si is very pricy and the gains aren't really much. it's alot of work and alot of money. for the same price and less!!! you can get the motor built with forged internals, and drop a fatty *** turbo in. with the right tuning and a good ic you can get at least 300 WHP!!! ANyone know where a good automotive garage is that does that kind of work in so cal, corona.
so your saying the head swap will be at least 3500-4000. cause thats about the money your going to spend for forged internals and a decent turbop setup at the least.

yeah thats how much it will cost but on a turbo you gain like 200 hp. but with a head swap you only gain like 10-20 hp. but with the head swap you get real V-tec. so i gotta figure out whats better.

what is your times worth? the head swap can be done in a few hours, helps when you have a complete type s head, and you'll need the ecu, but thats it....the only other drag is the immobilizer, but K-pro is a sure fix for that, not to mention a K series engine without k-pro is like a hot dog without the bun!...
personally on my 05 im going with a type s head/ecu....and the immobilizer reset by a friend of mine at the honda dealership....then saving up for my TODA head kit cams, springs, retainers, seats....head gasket, 12.9;1 pistons, and K-pro.....i've head speculations of 300whp n/a....i should hope so tho...nearly 13.1 on a 2.0 with hondata and c16 should make some huge power, but i believe they said 92oct. but yah back to my point...building the motor up for boost, plus sourcing the kit, installing, tuning, ect ect...your looking at weeks perhaps...specially if you have a reputable hondata dealer do your tuning....head swap unless your not very savy is a 4-5 hour job, then getting the car towed to a honda dealer cuz the RSX ecu shizz over the imobilizer....k my post is long and boring enough, c-ya

don't bother with a head swap. you'll find that it's not much better than a regular k20a3 with hondata. and that the si tranny gearing does not match with the powerband. if you are looking to spend 3500-4000 dollars, just get a bolt on turbo kit scuh as greddy, revhard or cybernation. you'll be a lot happier and have less headaches. so what if you have "real" vtec and your still slow?! you won't be as fast as a stock type-s either. all in all don't do it unless you really believe its that good. do a little more research on people that have gone through the swap already and you'll see my point. either get the whole type-s engine, tranny and ecu (used:3500 or less) or boost the si motor. it will survive boost without any forged internals to a certain extent and get you atleast 254whp (revhard kit) at only 7psi. theres a few more kits ou there to choose from too. case in point, try to get the most bang for your buck. if you think the head swap is gonna give you a huge boost in power, guess again and do your research.
